Directions: Hwy. 75, 24 mi. N. of Ketchum. Watch for a large sign on the right. If you get to Galena summit, you have gone five miles too far.

Information

Galena Lodge, built in the 1920s, was once a mining camp originally serving as the last Wood River Valley outpost in the early 1900s for the hunter and fisherman. Now Galena is popular as a winter Nordic ski lodge surrounded by 50 kilometers of trails. For mountain bikers it is a perfect place to begin the sport. There are four major routes available including the Cherry Creek Loop, the Rip and Tear Loop and the Galena Grinder. Three backcountry yurts are available for a remote camping experience. Special events, lessons and clinics are offered.

Hours: Summer Season Mid June through Mid September 9:30-4:00 daily, Thursday Night Wagon Ride BBQ's 6:00pm Winter Season Mid November through Early April 9:00-5:00. Dinner served on full moons and holidays.

Fees: Trails are no fee in the summer. There is a trail fee in the winter for both Nordic skiing and snowshoeing. Please call to inquire
