Put in: Pine Creek Bridge
Take Out: Panther Creek
Shuttle Length: 6 mi.
To reach the put-in, take the Salmon River Road from the town of North Fork (north of Salmon) until it crosses the river at Pine Creek Bridge, just past the town of Shoup.
To reach the take-out, continue six miles farther to the bridge over Panther Creek.
Camping: The best nearby camping is at two Forest Service campgrounds downstream from Panther Creek.

This stretch of the Salmon is a good trip for novice boaters, except during high water when the waves get quite large. The road runs right along the river here and the whole run can be easily scouted.
The biggest waves are at Pine Creek Rapid, right at the start of the run. The most difficult raid is Dutch Oven, four miles from the put-in.
