Information
The Idaho Military History Museum assists the Adjutant General in fulfilling his responsibility to preserve all military records, banners, and relics of the state as an enduring memorial of the patriotism and valor of the soldiers of Idaho. It chronicles the military history of Idaho, including the development of Gowen Field, home of the Idaho Army and Air National Guard. Exhibits feature displays of firearms and memorabilia from the Philippine Insurrection and the Spanish American War, the General Patch collection of World War I, a collection of memorabilia from a World War II prisoner of war, numerous other military memorabilia items including photos and uniforms, and some information on Idaho's naval history. We also have an exhibit on Idaho's Medal of Honor Recipients which includes 2 actual Medals of Honor.
