Information on current weather closures and winter activities are available at the Visitor Center between 9-4 daily (closed Nov 26 and Dec 25) or by calling 208-683-2425.
After the first full weekend of November until the third full weekend of March all the roads in the park are closed for the winter season except when weather conditions allow for incidental use. Once snow conditions warrant road closure for this year by; gate, berm or barrier, then winter vehicle access will be limited to parking at the Visitor Center, Thimbleberry, Lime Kiln Historic Sign pullout or Locust Grove Rd fee station.
Thimbleberry Area will be available throughout the winter for primitive camping (vault toilet only) and north side trail access. Cross Country ski trail grooming will begin once snow conditions allow.
Waldron camping cabins are available through the winter, access may require 1/3 mile hike in (for reservations, 1-888-922-6743)
If weather conditions allow, the following will be available:
CORRAL EQUESTRIAN campground.
WARD primitive camping area for fully self contained RV’s.
EAGLE BOAT LAUNCH, DISC GOLF AREAS, SUNRISE, WILLOW and FLYERS’ FIELD DAY USE AREAS hours 9-4

Fees:
$4 per vehicle/day ($5 starting January 1, 2009)for day use activities. Annual passes for the calendar year for $25 first vehicle ($35 for 2010) and $5 for one additional vehicle.
