Information
The St. Anthony Sand Dunes consists of more than 11,000 acres of clear, shifting, white quartz sand dunes up to 400 feet high that move about eight feet each year. They are unique in that the dunes support a high amount of exceptional off-road vehicle use on open dunes inside a wilderness study area, attracting riders from all over the West.
Visitors are strongly encouraged to avoid damage to vegetation and impacts to wildlife so that use of this unique area may continue. Primitive campsites are available on the East end of the dunes along the Red Road. Developed camping is located at Egin Lakes Acess Recreaction Site, located on the south-central portion of the dune camping.
Seasonal closures are in effect for most of the sand dunes during the wintertime to no human entry for wintering widlife. Please vistit http://www.blm.gov/id/st/en/fo/upper_snake.html for more information on the closures and sand dunes information.
