Information
At this site near the Oregon Trail, the Snake River is forced through a passage less than 40 feet wide. The Wilson Price Hunt party of 1811 capsized several times here and had to make the rest of their journey on foot. Undisturbed by later farming in the area, it survives as an exceptional natural spectacle on southern Idaho's most prominent river.
