This annual symposium is one of the key events in helping to increase awareness and appreciation of civil liberties both from a historical and a present day standpoint. Speakers and presenters at this year’s event include: Geoffrey Stone, Dean of the University of Chicago Law School and author of “Perilous Times: Free Speech in Wartime;” the Honorable Jim Jones, Idaho Supreme Court Justice and former Idaho Attorney General; Don Burnett, Dean of the College of Law at the University of Idaho; Mark Trahant, Editorial Page Editor of the Seattle Post Intelligencer; Diana Owen, Professor of Political Science at Georgetown University and Editor of “New Media and American Politics;” Dave Leroy, former Idaho Attorney General, Lt. Governor, and U.S. nuclear negotiator; Tom Ikeda, creator of the film “Densho: The Japanese American Legacy Project;” Dan Prinzing, Educational Director for the Idaho Human Rights Education Center; Marc C. Johnson, President of the Gallatin Group, a government relations and public relations firm; Caroline Aoyagi-Stom, Executive Editor of The Pacific Citizen, The Journal of the Japanese American Citizens League; James G.
