Cattle Drives provide the True Ranch Experience. We’ll go at your pace, work with you and your horse and make sure that you have a wonderful time. We start you out by getting you a little more familiar with your horse.
Unlike trail rides, on a cattle drive you must learn to move your horse in other directions than that of the other riders. This allows you to circle a cow and bring her back to the herd or to pressure a slow part of the herd. Before we even go out with the cows we’ll take our time teaching you to move your horse away from the rest of the horses and let you get familiar with directing a horse’s every move. Next we’ll do a few maneuvers with a cow in the corral so you can combine your newly acquired riding skills with moving a cow in the proper direction. Then, when we feel you’re prepared to do it for real, we’ll head out on the range and work the cattle.
The freedom you’ll feel as you begin to work together with your horse to become one in your movements and directions will be one of the most exhilarating experiences of your life. This is what Cowboys rave about. This is why Western Cattlemen are so addicted to their occupations!
