Brigham Young University-Idaho takes an innovative approach to higher education. It is a hybrid university combining liberal arts, sciences, and training to meet a wide variety of professions. BYU-Idaho operates on a year-round track system that enables it to serve 10,000 additional students each calendar year though about 11,400 full-time students each semester. Situated on a 430-acre campus, BYU-Idaho presents numerous events and activities to complement its educational programs. The Ricks Gardens, Greenhouses, Wildlife Museum, Geology Museum, and Spori Art Gallery provide learning opportunities for students and the public. Founded in 1888, BYU-Idaho is affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and is the oldest continuing institution of higher education in Idaho.
