This is a gathering of fiber artist from 6 Western States. Many classes open to beginners. Spinning wheels and looms are available for rent. Classes require preregistration and payment. Register either online (srfiberarts.org) or (WSFA Guild, P. O. Box 1522, IF, 83403.
Roy Kady, a renowned Navajo weaver, is teaching classes. Other classes are angora rabbit raising, knitting, spinning, needle felting, weaving, dyeing, wire jewelry,and rug making. Classes combine fiber art from our heritage with the latest techniques and advances. Top notch instructors from around the West teach beginning, intermediate and advanced classes.
Vendor booths are owned by fiber artists and craftspeople. Items for sale include both exotic handspun yarn and speciality commercial yarn and knitting tools, hats, vests, bags and jackets, hand dyed yarn, spinning wheels, hand made tools, looms, dyes, fiber, sheep pelts, rugs, felted bags, jewelry, soap, books and toy animals. Yak down, alpaca fiber and multi colored sheep’s wool will be sold by their shepherds. In 2011, both a wool competition and a skein competition will be held.
