7/7/2014 - 7/11/2014
The CSI Jazz camp is an opportunity for students and lovers of jazz age 13 and up to experience the art of making jazz music with world class musicians! The camp will take place on the College of Southern Idaho’s beautiful campus. Students will work closely with a faculty of professional jazz musicians and jazz instructors from all over the northwest to learn the history, theory, and performance of jazz music in an intimate, small-class setting. Students will also gain new ideas about improvisation in a wide variety of jazz styles. Students will not only learn from the faculty at the camp, they will also have the opportunity to play alongside them during evening jam sessions. The camp will culminate with a performance on Saturday afternoon at the Jazz on the Canyon Rim jazz festival. The camp is open to anyone who can play an instrument, with instruction available on drums, piano, bass, guitar, and wind instruments.
