Operated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, this hatchery is located where the North Fork and main Clearwater Rivers meet. Dworshak produces 2.5 million steelhead trout and one million spring Chinook salmon annually. A self-guided tour is available seven days a week from 7:30am-4pm. Guided tours are from Memorial Day to Labor Day on Saturdays; call for times. Call ahead to book a tour for large groups or schools on weekdays. Brochures and maps available in the parking lot kiosk and main lobby. An annual Kid's Fishing Day is held on a Saturday in May near the Hatchery. Spawning of spring Chinook salmon may be viewed on Tuesdays from late August to September. Spawning of Steelhead may be viewed on Tuesdays from February to May. Please call for exact dates and times.
