Information
In 1887, a bill was brought before the Territorial Legislature to establish Idaho's first university at Eagle Rock (now known as Idaho Falls). This bill was opposed by a group from the Moscow area who suggested that Moscow be the site. The bill was tabled by the Senate until 1889 when Willis Sweet and John Brigham wrote an act to establish the University of Idaho, the state's oldest university. Buildings on the 450-acre campus vary from gothic structures with stained glass to modern complexes. The Kibbie Dome is one such modern structure with its wooden arches reaching 150 feet high.
