Information
Veterans Memorial Park offers a tranquil setting in the middle of Boise where strollers and bike riders can enjoy a small lake and the Boise River.
The park, the site of the original Idaho State Veterans Home, contains several memorials to America's veterans:
1) Series of plaques commemorating veterans groups and military activities.
2) Monument to Pearl Harbor Survivors dedicated to Idaho members of the US Armed Services who lost their lives on the Island of Oahu, Territory of Hawaii, on Dec 7, 1941.
3) Vietnam POW/MIA dedicated to Idaho's prisoners of war and missing in action in the Southwest Asian Conflict.
4) A memorial to veterans of the Korean War, listing names of all Idaho veterans who were killed in this war.
5) Monument dedicated to Desert Storm veterans.
The park connects with Boise's Greenbelt pathway.
