You and your sled won't want to leave this trail system that meanders through the vast Clearwater National Forest which is nestled on the west side of the Bitterroot Mountains in North Central Idaho.
The base elevation is 3200'and the top elevation is 6500'.
Featuring more than 300 miles of groomed trails, hundreds of miles of ungroomed trails and vast off trail riding opportunities, your only problem is deciding where to go. A portion of the trail system actually follows the Lewis & Clark Trail through the region. One favorite destination is Hemlock Lookout where you can look out over the Camas Prairie to the west and into Montana to the east. The Clearwater Ridgerunners Snowmobile Club maintains the trails and four warming cabins on the trail system. Representatives from the Clearwater National Forest, the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation, Potlatch Corporation and the Clearwater County Snowmobile Advisory Committee work together to manage them.
