The Lazy R Ranch is a private, family-owned spread of close to 15,000 acres in the mountain meadows of the Drybuck Valley. We are licensed, bonded, and insured as an outfitter in the State of Idaho and can serve all your horseback desires.
Whether you simply want to have pony rides for the kids or trail rides for the youth and adults, we can help. We also provide opportunities to experience true ranch life, such as cattle roundups and branding.
Cattle drives provide the true ranch experience. We’ll go at your pace, work with you and your horse and make sure that you have a wonderful time. Unlike trail rides, on a cattle drive you must learn to move your horse in other directions than that of the other riders. This allows you to circle a cow and bring her back to the herd or to pressure a slow part of the herd. We’ll take our time teaching you to work with your horse. Next we’ll do a few maneuvers with a cow in the corral Then, when we feel you’re prepared to do it for real, we’ll head out on the range and work the cattle.
